and… we’re bored {jar}

bored jar 1

this last month, i’ve had off from school. and with only working 1/2 days while my friends work full days, most of the time i find myself really bored. let’s face it. there are only so many craft projects one girl can do! {kidding}

and let it be known,  that i’ve never been one to do well with entertaining myself. always needing others to be around to do things with. so this month was definitely a trial of my limited abilities.

well james became really tired of me complaining of how bored i was. and did a quick search of boredom activities and found this little jar on pinterest and insisted that we make one. it’s kind of silly as it was meant for children. but hey, when you’re a grad student you need a little distraction!

so with a jar we had lying around, some paper strips, markers and little decorating tape. we created our own bored jar. the rule is that once the words “i’m/we’re bored” come out of our mouths, we have to choose a strip of paper out of the jar. it includes everything from cleaning out the car or going on a date for drinks at a local bar. obviously some of the strips are weather permitting, so if its torrential downpour we probably won’t go walk around castle island. but we may choose to do a harry potter movie marathon or do our own version of the food network’s chopped in our kitchen!

i’m really excited to start using it. and kind of want to say “i’m bored” for the heck of it. we have some really fun and really not so fun things in there. i just hope when it’s my turn to pull i get something along the lines, “take james’ credit card and go shopping!” i’m pretty sure he wrote that one in there…. right?

oh hey! last thing. do us a favor and vote for what you think we should do with the champagne coupes. there is a tie so far. and james and i are split. he says drink. i say succulent plants!

cheers x

    Ok, so i need to start one of these for my bored kids. And second, I’m with James on this one. Fill it with a drink.
